There’s something special about being able to witness two close friends vow their life to each other — it’s even more meaningful to get to photograph it. Although I had only found out the morning of their wedding that I was needed to capture Morgan and Ryan’s day, (their photographer/videographer duo bailed, I know yikes) I had known Morgan since we were young, so capturing images that were genuine to their love would be simple. Morgan and I met as little middle schoolers on the school yard. The year was 2005 and we connected over our love for competitive sports, her being a dirt bike rider and I a gymnast. Morgan was always joyful, ready to laugh and flash her big smile at you. Even as a young kid I was drawn to her bright personality. We stayed friends throughout high school and somehow through several moves and spanning states, we both ended up in the Seattle Area.
While I am so thrilled for years to have passed since the early days of our friendship — if you saw a picture of us back then you’d understand….but I truly felt like that small 5th grade girl’s friend again, sitting at the front of the aisle capturing Morgan giddy, smiling from ear to ear at the love of her life.
Morgan and Ryan wed on August 13th of 2022 at The Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, WA. She bought her dress in her hometown of Campbell, CA and flowers were crafted by Maddy’s Old Town Flowers in Belfair, WA.
